I hope everyone is having a lovely June and looking forward to the official start to summer in the Northern Hemisphere. Behind the scenes we are getting ready to kick off the Sunshine Revival Challenge starting on July 1. There will be an introduction and friending post ahead of the start to the challenge so we can all gather and get to know one another. Here's a tentative schedule to mark on your planners, if you're into that:

Oh thanks for the reminder. I'll try my best to join in.

I love that medieval poem:

Middle English

Sumer is icumen in
Lhude sing cuccu
Groweþ sed
and bloweþ med
and springþ þe wde nu
Sing cuccu

Awe bleteþ after lomb
lhouþ after calue cu
Bulluc sterteþ
bucke uerteþ
murie sing cuccu

Cuccu cuccu
Wel singes þu cuccu
ne swik þu nauer nu

Sing cuccu nu • Sing cuccu.
Sing cuccu • Sing cuccu nu

Modern English

Summer has arrived,
Loudly sing, cuckoo!
The seed is growing
And the meadow is blooming,
And the wood is coming into leaf now,
Sing, cuckoo!

The ewe is bleating after her lamb,
The cow is lowing after her calf;
The bullock is prancing,
The billy-goat farting, [or "The stag cavorting"]
Sing merrily, cuckoo!

Cuckoo, cuckoo,
You sing well, cuckoo,
Never stop now.

Sing, cuckoo, now; sing, cuckoo;
Sing, cuckoo; sing, cuckoo, now!

I'm sorry if I missed the explanation somewhere, but what sort of community/challenge is this intending to be? Is it going to be general/social? Will it have a general creative tilt to it? Will it lean towards fandom? Or something different I'm not thinking of?

Basically, I went to mention the community to someone and realized I don't actually know what we're doing here!
