Dreamwidth Stuff
What do you post about? Book reviews, game reviews, birds, nature photography, occasional personal life updates (under lock). A current project is to post a review of every book Ursula Le Guin wrote, in order of publication.
How often do you post? 3-4 times per week.
What communities, if any, are you involved in? I follow
What kind of accounts do you like to follow? I enjoy reading people's thoughts on media, including books, games, TV, movies, music, fanfiction... whatever you're into! I can't follow journals with significant political/news content or general doomerism; it has a negative impact on my mental health.
Fandom Stuff
Fandoms: None at the moment, at least not actively. Star Trek is my forever fandom, so that's the most likely one that I'll return to now and then. Historically my main fandoms have all been SF/F of some sort.
Favorite Characters: The entire crew of TNG. :)
Ships: I am a multishipper and will flit from one ship to another without rhyme or reason. If I find any two characters interesting, it's probable that I'll be interested in what they'd be like as a couple.
Things you're into but not fannish about: If birding isn't a fandom, then birding. But I'm not sure I accept the premise that birding isn't a fandom. I'm also into linguistics and constructed languages, though it doesn't really come up in my journal that often. Maybe I'll change that, but who knows.
I Designed This Meme So I Get To Ask Weird Stuff
Explain your username: When I joined LJ 20+ years ago, my most recent fic involved nightjars (a family of nocturnal birds) so I kind of had them on the brain, but the name nightjar was taken, so I went with pauraque which is a nightjar species. (The name is Spanish and has three syllables.)
Favorite season (it's ok if it's not summer): "Spring and summer pleasure you / Autumn, aye, and winter too / Every season has its cheer / Life is lovely all the year!" -W.S. Gilbert
What's your vibe? Very earnest, passionately organized. You know I'm into something if I have a spreadsheet for it.
What is your summeriest fandom? (You can interpret this however you likeā¦.): I feel like any TV fandom from the pre-streaming era could fit this, because of the outpouring of discussion and longer fics that would come with the summer hiatus.
Opening song on your summer mixtape: Is it too literal to say the Summer concerto from Vivaldi's Four Seasons?
