Dreamwidth Stuff
What do you post about? Publicly, gardening and some hobby herbalism. Privately, all kinds of things! Mostly personal stuff like work and family, but I'd like to expand into other topics. I've been a lurker online for most of my life so I'm still stretching my posting muscles and trying to see what sticks.
How often do you post? I aim for a couple times a week, but sometimes it's less if I get busy.
What communities, if any, are you involved in? Mostly various writing communities like writethisfanfic and ushobwri. Also a big fan of agonyaunt since I live on advice columns.
What kind of accounts do you like to follow? I love hearing about people's lives, both the day-to-day goings on as well as general interests and thoughts on things going on in the world. We don't have to have things in common for me to want to follow you - in fact, sometimes it's more interesting when we don't!

Fandom Stuff
Fandoms: DC Comics (mostly Teen Titans/Deathstroke/Green Arrow and adjacent titles, especially the stuff published in the 80s/90s for reasons I can't explain) and a steady stream of animated shows (think Adventure Time, Gravity Falls, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and many others in that vein). Other intermittent interests have included Buffy, Doctor Who, OFMD, Star Wars (especially Mandalorian), Star Trek, Marvel, Murderbot, and a whole mess of other things.
Things you're into but not fannish about: Interpreting this as things I'm interested in that aren't fandoms per se... Books in general (I most often read nonfiction but LOVE magical realism. Will give most things a try if they come recommended), travel/languages/culture, dance, martial arts/combat sports, history. The interconnectedness of all things. Non-fandom interests and hobbies are a much bigger part of my life than fannish things, but all are good!

Explain your username: It was originally "WritingByFirelight" because my first apartment had a working fireplace and I used it a lot when writing. Then I decided to change it to "WinterFirelight" to make it more versatile and less writing-specific.
Favorite season (it's ok if it's not summer): You'd think it's Winter based on the username, but actually it's Autumn :)
What's your vibe? Possibly very different online than IRL, so I don't really know... you tell me!

Oh my goodness, yes yes!! You seem very cool. I am fascinated by the idea of Bible fanfic that I saw you mention in your intro - something I've always meant to read and would probably really enjoy, but have never made the time. Perhaps you'll inspire me! Also, the song you posted is excellent. I suspect we've got a number of things in common!

It seems like we have a lot of similar interests and I relate to not feeling super fannish but still liking nerd things. Like cape stuff, for example (I'm also new to that so I like hearing from people more familiar w it)

Yeah! I used to be a lot more fannish than I am now. Partly because just life and other interests started taking over, and partly because fandom-centric spaces I find difficult to navigate sometimes. What kind of cape stuff have you enjoyed so far? I think I saw a Batman mention on your intro post?

we have a great deal of fandoms in common and my university research is examining the efficacy of herbal antimicrobials (so yes I'm an herbal hobbyist too). Mind if I friend you?

thanks. Started into Hazbin last year and it ate me up.

The research got halted last year but I'll have a student on some of it this fall. Sadly all I can do is antimicrobial research (we're a small university with no money)

I'm starting to read up on Italian folk medicine now
