Basics Name: Em Age: Late 20s Location: Southern United States Other blogs/socials: I'm emmalylis on Tumblr, but I'm not very active. AO3 here.
Dreamwidth Stuff What do you post about? I made my account this month, so [insufficient data.] I'm hoping to post about fandom events, what I read, cooking experiments, and general day-to-day things. How often do you post? See above. I'm chronically ill, so my energy levels can vary wildly. What communities, if any, are you involved in? I follow along with as many fanfiction exchanges as I can, though the chronic illness makes me unreliable enough that I pinch hit more than I participate. I'm signed up for Battleship, though! What kind of accounts do you like to follow? I like to follow people who have lives, experiences, and interests different from my own. If you post about cooking or gardening or you operate on the meta/modding side of fandom, I'd especially like to meet you.
Fandom Stuff Fandoms: Many, but current favorites include Miraculous Ladybug, Leverage, White Collar, and Dungeon Meshi. Favorite Characters: Eliot Spencer, Neal Caffrey, and Dick Grayson. Ships: Many. Superbat has been the most enduring. Things you're into but not fannish about: Cross stitch. My cat. Rock climbing. Cooking new things. Plant identification.
I Designed This Meme So I Get To Ask Weird Stuff Explain your username: I am so glad to have an excuse to explain! When I was a teenager, I read a book called The Legend of Holly Claus. It's about Santa Claus's daughter going to work in a toy shop in New York City, where, naturally, she falls in love. It's surprisingly good! A fairy named Emmalylis is mentioned on one page of that book and never again. It's a great name, and it was still stuck in my head the next time I needed a username. I was Emmalylis everywhere for a good while, long enough that internet friends started calling me Em for short. When I started wanting to post in kink memes and the like, the Emmalylis AO3 account had amassed a modestly large number of subscribers, including some younger teenagers who'd spoken to me on discord servers and were following the account for children's cartoon fics. I didn't want to worry about those eyeballs on my porn, so I made an alt. 'gremdark' is like 'grimdark' but with my fandom name in it. It started as my alt for porn, dark content, and other things I didn't want to worry about a bunch of young teenage followers seeing me post. But it turns out that posting without worrying about it is way more fun, so it's now effectively my main. Favorite season (it's ok if it's not summer): Early spring, when the wind stirs up the trees in a certain way that makes it feel like the start of an adventure in a book. What's your vibe? I still feel like a baby adult, but I'm doing my best to be a good one. What is your summeriest fandom? (You can interpret this however you likeā¦.): Merlin feels very summery to me. They're always wandering through sunny, green woodlands. Opening song on your summer mixtape: Earlier this month I went through my Spotify likes and made a 26-song playlist with my favorite songs that start with each letter of the alphabet. The first song on that playlist is Atlas Drowned by Gang of Youths. (Please feel welcome to ask for songs that start with other letters in the replies)
